Homelessness Prevention Program

Homeless Prevention

United Way of Northern Ozaukee recognizes the urgent and complex issue of homelessness, which demands a multi-pronged investment strategy. In partnership with the Ozaukee County Continuum of Care Coalition, a collaborative effort of nonprofit, government, and business leaders, we are committed to providing stable housing for struggling families. Our collective goal is a future where homelessness is rare, brief, and prevented. Your support is crucial in achieving this.

Your contribution is not just financial, it's instrumental in our efforts to prevent homelessness. We are investing your dollars in providing short-term rent assistance and helping individuals overcome the barriers to long-term, stable housing.  Our Community Services Navigator offers short-term case management to help community members access critical resources and services, including employment, substance misuse, recovery, and mental health support. Together, we can make a significant difference.

Without stable and affordable housing and food, local families struggle to manage their daily lives. These stresses can lead to health issues, disruptions in home life, relationship conflicts, frequent relocations, school absences, and job losses. However, increasing household stability will lead to greater economic and job stability, improved health and academic performance for children, and a more stable, better community for all. This is the future we are working towards.
