Through a collaborative effort, we provide critical lifeline services and a path to financial empowerment for our neighbors because a better future begins with financial stability.
In Ozaukee County, 20 percent of the population is Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE). They’re working men and women who are not under the poverty line, yet they struggle to afford food, rent, child care and transportation.
Without stable and affordable housing and food, local families have difficulty managing their daily lives. These stresses can lead to health issues, home-life disruptions, relationship conflicts, frequent relocations, school absences and job losses. Increasing household stability leads to greater economic and job stability, improved health and academic performance for children, and a better community for all.
