Carol Hertz - Former Cedarburg Curriculum Director
Karl and Carol Hertz have lived in Thiensville for 34 years. Both were educators.
Carol was curriculum director for the Cedarburg schools, and Karl was school superintendent in Mequon-Thiensville. Carol received a second master’s degree from the University of Chicago, and Karl received a doctoral degree from Indiana University. Both the Hertzes have been volunteers at Lumen Christi parish. Carol has served on the board of Advocates of Ozaukee County, League of Women Voters, and the Ozaukee County NAACP. Karl is a member of Rotary and served as district governor for southeastern Wisconsin. He also was president of the American Association of School Administrators. Karl was a village trustee and president for thirteen years and served as a Ozaukee County supervisor for ten years. The Hertzes have been married for 60 years, they have three children and five grandchildren spread all over the country.
